I currently weigh approximately 721 N.
Weight is a force and therefore should be measured in newtons, not kilos! It also varies from place to place on Earth – so strictly speaking I should say that my current weight is approximately 721 N in London, where the acceleration due to gravity, I believe, is 9.81183 m s−2.
It is probably even snowing heavily in other parts of the UK – or will be before the end of the weekend. In such treacherous conditions, it is of paramount importance for motorists to drive carefully – with speeds not exceeding 9 m s−1 in built-up areas.
There is definitely nothing wrong with measuring speeds in metres per second.
I have put on a small amount of weight; I am now weighing just a tad under 740 N in Walthamstow, London.
