    Trees Empty Trees

    I joined a group of people on a walk in Hainault Forest Country Park today. There are a good variety of trees in this Site of Special Scientific Interest, of which the following are three.


    Black Poplar (Populus nigra):





    Hornbeam (Carpinus betulus):





    Common Beech (Fagus sylvatica):

    “Oh Rowan (Sorbus aucuparia) Tree” is a Scottish folk song.

    Sometimes called mountain ash, though not related to ash (genus Fraxinus), which does not produce berries.
